How do I create a site plan on AutoCAD ?

I have a location whose dimensions are 2 miles x 1.5 miles. Inside that location I need to add objects like Tents, tables and other things based on their real dimensions. The purpose is to determine how many of these things can I fit into the location. However, I’m not able to get autoCAD to take these dimensions and to somehow scale it so that I can view the complete location in my window so I can then insert the objects with their respective dimensions.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank You !
