How do you get AUTOCAD not to make .bak files?

is there any way to get AutoCad not to store .bak files?

    Set the ISAVEBAK variable to 0.

    I wouldn’t recommend it though, .bak files are needed if a file becomes corrupt. You then have a much better chance of not losing all your work.
