    Go to the tools pulldown, or right-click in the gray area by your command line, then go to options. Under the second tab, Display, click the colors button. If under “context”, Sheet/Layout isn’t selected, then select it. Select “uniform background” under interface element, and change it to whatever you want. Most people use black, but you use purple or whatever.
