How to save Autocad 2010 file so it will open with Autocad 2005?

Hi, I’m working with autocad 2010 at home but my school only have 2005. Do I need to save my 2010 file in a different name so I can open it with autocad 2005 at school?

You will need to save the DWG file at your house down to 2004 format before you can can open it at your school. There ar several ways of doing this:

    1. On your Toolbar at the top of the screen click on Tools. Click on options. click the open/save tab change the save format to save your files as 2004 LT/DWG fles. Apply and Close.

    2. Simply open the file, save as, change the save as file type selection to 2004 LT/DWG file.
