What is or what does the LISP program do for AutoCAD?

I am interviewing for a position in a Civil/Structural Engineering firm and they asked if I had ever worked with LISP. I haven’t and would like to know what LISP is or what it does.

  1. ljalg says:

Lisp is a language that is used to automate AutoCAD. If I recall correctly it is a scripting language that is used to run multiple command lines in succession allowing pauses for use input. Newer AutoCad versions can also utilize Visual Basic to Automate repetative tasks.

Good luck with the interview and be honest.
