Whats the future for the basic autocad drafter?

Its becoming extemely hard to find a CAD Job lately is it a dieing industry?

    i really don’t know but i think that you have to improve your self and then you might get more opportunities

    Ya, that’s true. Knowledge in ACAD alone rarely bring you a job. However, it spices up relevant experience in your industry e.g. engineering. I don’t really consider autocad drafting an industry, rather say it as ‘designing with autocad.’ Usually employer hires autocad draftsman with course in engineering… or a degree, with experience. I am a civil engineer and my proficiency in autocad really helps amplify my qualifications and gives better chance of getting a higher salary.
