Really liked your tip on linetype scale in paperspace views. I was going nuts trying to figure out why each of my viewports had different scales fo the same linetypes.
Thank you – I really enjoy tips, even though I’m so damn busy that I don’t have time to respond.

I am pretty good with the flat work but am trying to get as good with 3-D and BIM.All of your tips have been helpful

I am self taught on autocad. I can do what in need, but don’t know what i could be doing to save time and be more productive

The reality is that “we don’t know what we don’t know”. I used to have an emplyee who always accused me of “holding out on them” when they would see me do something they didn’t know. When we keep seeking, we keep finding.

I try each tip from which I certainly know that I do something with it. I get also many info of the site: autocadexchange. com. I can earn points with answer questions and giving good tips. I sit for 4 year with at the top of specialists. There now also is a forum for Inventor which I alwayore with work. I also find it interesant to comunicate with someone from the far America. I welcome each tip from you,i never too old to learn.

Know how to draw in model space, kinda lost when trying to use templates , paper space & things related to making a useful plotted drawing.

The pole is deceiving. I have 19 years of experience, started in ver. 9, & have taken 3 updates- (only 1 paid for by and Employer) But with all the changes, and innovations, It is really difficult to keep up. I know more than the kids coming out of school, but not all the same material.
When your employer has an old cad (using 2005 now and all the info out there is on 2009.) By the time I get on 2009 it will also be out of date. And I will have to learn on my own. Hopefully without an employer screaming at me ” I thought you knew AutoCAD, and “I’m not paying you to learn!” as this last one did when I tried to jump from 2004 to 2008.

My wife made the same comment about the pole. Someone can have tons of experance but still be very much a beginner on the newer version. I’ve also know many people who learned a enough commands to do their particular task, but couldn’t draw anything else.
Hopefully these tips will help everyone to learn. I’m enjoying learning from subscriber comments as well.

HI Mike.
I’ve been drafting for nigh on 20 years and have used up to 2008. I started using AutoCAD before there were mice!!! I understand and can manipulate the package very well mainly in 2D as 3D hasn’t caught on in AutoCAD and REVIT does it in a more user friendly manner.
In saying this I suppose I’m not up to speed in all of the changes within AutoCAD and the one I really want to master but can’t get my head around is in relation to annotatative object scaling (2008).
